충남 논산시가 논산 농특산물 및 기업의 수출길을 닦는 해외 통상사무소를 베트남 호치민시에 개설하고 본격 운영에 들어갔다.

 

지난 18일 백성현 논산시장 등 베트남 방문단은 베트남 호치민시 JM그룹 사옥에서 ‘주베트남논산통상사무소’ 개소ㆍ현판 제막식을 개최했다.

 

이날 개소한 ‘주베트남논산통상사무소’는 논산의 농특산물ㆍ기업이 생산한 제품을 베트남을 비롯한 아시아 시장에 진출하는 데 있어 가교역할을 할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 

논산시의 베트남 통상사무소 개설은 기초지방자치단체 가운데 처음있는 일로, 논산시는 다방면의 행ㆍ재정적 자원을 투입해 통상사무소 운영 성과를 가시화하겠다는 목표다.

 

백성현 논산시장은 “대한민국의 핵심 무역 상대국 중 하나인 베트남에 통상사무소가 조성됨으로써 논산 기업, 농산물의 세계화의 길이 대폭 넓어졌다”며 “기초 지방자치단체가 베트남에 통상사무소 현판을 내건 것은 유례가 없는 일로, 획기적 도전이라 할 수 있다”고 전했다.

 

한편, 소장에 위촉된 JM그룹 김정민 대표는 아시아한상 총연합회 부회장과 아시아한상 베트남 남부연합회장 직을 역임하고 있다. 김 대표는 10년이 넘게 베트남 유통업계에 종사하며 얻은 지혜와 비즈니스 수완을 바탕으로 논산 농특산물ㆍ기업의 아시아 시장 공략을 앞장서 돕겠다는 의지다.
